Let’s Talk Blazers for Fall

Goodbye summer, hello fall!

Now that the wake of Labor Day is far behind us, it’s time to break out those cozy knits, chunky boots, and perhaps my favorite autumn staple of all: blazers. Let’s talk about the ones I’ll be wearing this fall and the best ways to style them.

1. The Androgynous Look

If you’re going for a masculine vibe, look no further than a tailored blazer with matching trousers. As many fashionistas might recall, Blake Lively perfected the art of a tailored suit at NYFW in the fall of 2018 as part of her promotional efforts for the movie, A Simple Favor. Clearly, a suit never ceases to make a statement, regardless of the occasion.

2. The Thrifted Look

I’m not ashamed to admit that many of my favorite autumnal blazers have been found in the depths of multiple consignment store clothing racks. And there’s no denying that there’s something so effortlessly chic about a vintage men’s blazer. That’s why I was THRILLED to come across this bad boy as it can be worn casually with jeans, or on its own as a dress for a more sophisticated look.

3. The Transitional Look

Because fall weather can be so unpredictable (at least it can be here on the East Coast), layering proves to be the best route to take when planning an outfit. Adding a blazer to your otherwise summery ensemble is a foolproof way of making sure you’re both prepared for the elements and on-trend.

Here’s an additional worldly tip: drape a blazer over your shoulders for that off-duty take on seasonal dressing.
