WITW’s Favorite Black-Owned Brands

Wear in the World is committed to using our platform for change – big and small.

That’s why we find it important to do our part in supporting the Black community in any way we can. Whether it’s signing a petition, making a donation, or contacting our local representatives, we know change is possible. And it’s up to us to put it in motion.

With that said, WITW is eager to highlight some of our favorite Black-owned fashion and beauty brands, hand-picked by our editors.

KEELY’S TOP PICKS FOR FASHION:

1. Christopher John Rogers for NET-A-PORTER

Favorite piece: Pleated silk and wool-blend straight leg pants
Why I love the brand: Christopher John Roger’s collection for NET-A-PORTER brings much-needed vibrance and gorgeous, billowy silhouettes to the table. If you’re looking to brighten up your wardrobe, this brand will not disappoint.

2. Jade Swim

Favorite piece: Halo One Piece
Why I love the brand: While my current swimsuit collection isn’t all that large, I much prefer having an arsenal of items that make me feel confident – even if I have to spend a little extra for it. Enter: Jade Swim!

ARIANNA’S TOP PICKS FOR BEAUTY:

1. Juvia’s Place

Favorite product: The Nubian 2
Additional favorite product: Loose Highlighter from The Nubian Collection in shade Nefertiti
Why I love the brand: These products are the most cost-effective for luxury-quality products, especially with their eyeshadows. Huge pans with incredible pigment pay off and very saturated glitters.

2. Urban Glow Cosmetics

Favorite product: The Turmicnator face mask (out of stock at the moment)
Why I love the brand: UGC is so committed to supporting other small businesses and Black-owned brands. They do it all – they even have cleanse teas to help with your skin and overall health. Perhaps the most important – I DM’ed the business on IG asking if certain products would work with my skin type, and I got an answer minutes later.
